How does the world’s first wireless phone virus work?

Cabir infects Symbian OS mobile phones the same way any worm or virus infects a Windows PC.

It is configured in the same file format as a ringtone download, or a new phone game. It arrives from a peer-phone using bluetooth (an unlicensed media), so that it can only spread where two phones are in close proximity. This will limit it’s impact and rate of diffusion throughout the world since the target phone must have bluetooth enabled, on and have owners willing to accept the unsolicited file.
