Enterprise call notification occurs when the user receives a message on their mobile phone that indicates a call is coming into the office number and can optionally present disposition selections such as answer, send to voicemail, send to nearby landline extension or send to administrative assistant. Notification is usually presented as a screen alert including the incoming caller ID and any disposition options that are preprogrammed. Users report that decisions must be made quickly since it often takes a ring or two to get the phone out of the pocket or purse, and then to read the disposition options takes a third ring leaving only one or two more rings before voicemail takes over.
