My 18-year-old daughter, who has been living for ten months in Texas while her parents live 1800 miles away in Massachusetts is a creative and joyful young person. She has big plans and earned a bassoon performance scholarship from the University of Hartford's Hartt School to get started on them. She also went to the prom in a 'Mary Poppins' prom dress made of duct tape. Yes, duct tape.

If you've never heard of this event, the Henkel Consumer Adhesives company holds an annual Prom Scholarship Contest. Teens make their formal outfits using duct tape and they send photos for a chance to win a $5000 scholarship. But, there's a popular vote dimension too. They can win an extra $500 if lots of folks vote for them.

Tina's in the fourth row of this page, entry # 3384. Rewarding 'spunk' is a great tradition. A vote for her is a vote for duct tape. I did.

PS – I'm still thinking of the link to convergence, but get out there and vote. Thoughts welcome.
