Flexibility of VoIP
Amazing, but true story – Sept 20, 2004.
In an article in NWFusion's Convergence Newsletter, Larry Hettick and Steve Taylor wrote about a big success story for a Texas county that was able to accelerate redeployment of IP telephony kit — to keep the courts running smoothly.A fire in the Bell County Courthouse made the building unusable for public trials and the inner workings of Justice, but through quick re-engineering 65 phones, two servers and 40 desktops were relocated to nine locations in five of the county's other facilities with only 42 person-hours of effort. Thanks to the 3Com NBX IP Telephony system: high flexibility; high availability.
Steve tells me this story was unsolicited too.
