Investors are attracted to opportunity and being green smells just like such a domain. Green is a popular color among venture capitalists. According to Dow Jones VentureSource VCs invested 43% more in 2007 than in 2006 in green technologies. 85% of that investment was in the United States. Not only did they do more deals, they did bigger deals. Average investment went from $13.5 million to $15.8 million.

Global totals in 2007 were $3 billion in 221 companies.
